Richard, Or, maybe they know more about the XBOX that we don't... As far as Rambus memory being used in Xbox, I think it has been decided that Xbox will use DDR SDRAM. So unless you are hoping that Rambus will somehow collect royalty on this, there is nothing for Rambus in X-box. Joe

If Samsung is planning on doubling production and moving a fair amount of chips into something like XBox or PS2 which is a low-cost consumer use that probably won't be a top dollar per unit application, and Intel is on a ramp for the P4 to greatly increase it's market share... Let me boil all of this down. If Intel meets their production points on the P4, i.e. up to 15 million units a quarter, that means at least 30 million RIMMs and from 60 to 240 million DRDRAM units a quarter or 20 to 80 million a month for minimal memory systems. Now according to Samsung, they will be hard pressed to produce as many as 20 million a month by the end of 2001. So why the hurry to move to another market? They should be able to shift every DRDRAM they make just meeting P4 demand. Unless there really won't be that demand...
