The national missile-defense plan championed by the newly inaugurated President Bush? It's a version of an idea that Reagan unveiled to considerable skepticism. Partial privatization of Social Security? Reagan was hammered for hinting at the notion, now supported by most Americans. Welfare reform and the expanded use of religious institutions to provide social services? Reagan themes that were embraced by both presidential candidates last year. I figured it out. When it became apparent that Ronnie Reagan was getting ill Nancy had her astrologer transfer his mind into Junior George. She first had to search for the emptiest vessle, naturally she new that Senior George was the dimest person she knew, and Junior George was even more witless. A few incantations later we have the return of the great communicator. Hmm, maybe they should have used a fresher eye of newt. TP
