MM, This does not surprise me one bit. I worked for that man answering to him every quarter as to what I had done for him lately, and knew I would not have a job if I was not giving him over 10% every year. GE is lean and mean. We ran a business with 3 levels of management. I had over 50 professional people directly reporting to me. I was doing performance appraisals at midnight. <g> We worked 12 hours every day, and if we were in town on weekends we were in the plant. BTW, we were paid well and the savings/pension plan is 2nd to none. When I went to work for Honeywell it was like a Country Club. These folks did not know what work was. Jack can take 75% of the management out of there and it would still look fat. Fat and happy folks are going to learn a lesson. <g> Joan
