Andrew, the media are controlled by industrial giants like GE. they are firmly in their pocket, manipulating moods and opinions far more skillfully than the Pravda ever managed to do. no free press, get it? did you hear ANYWHERE that Iraq didn't export a drop of oil during December? the 4th largest producer, simply turning off the tap? it was mentioned on the side, as if it were of no import. same goes for GE lay-offs...GE controls NBC after all. the stock market keeps discounting a soft landing plus swift recovery...the possibility that things might get worse is simply not a factor in current mainstream thinking. that will however change imo.
