Whoa! I didn't just blame younions, although I gave them ample credit. Actually, the easy, lazy thing to do is to blame management, which younions have been doing for decades. And what's this bullsh** you are spewing about "cyclical business?" Bill Clintoris declared quite some time ago that business cycles and recessions were a thing of the past. Remember?

flap,

It would be nice if you responded to the tough questions too.

"Sounds like Ford management may have its act together a little better than Chrysler management. Don't you think? And, hey, here's another novel thought: Perhaps the Ford assembly line men and women actually EARNED their bonus. If you're going to bitch about Chrysler, then tip your hat to Ford. "

Not a big leap here flap, but I will admit that you are much more correct than even you may realize. Ford is usually not surprised by slowdowns. They are planning for them and try to maintain cash reserves. Ford quality (regardless of what the "independent" automotive mags might state) is quite high, while Chrysler still struggles.

So you actually got one fact correct here, and that is that Ford is producing higher quality than Chrysler, and they are rewarded by the ongoing improvement this makes to the bottom line. It may have more to with what we call "idiot proof" assembly than with actual commitment by the union worker. Ford runs the biz like they are in the middle of a war...a war than NEVER ends.

It is easy to believe you when you use a fact, even when your suggestion regarding the impact of that "fact" may be incorrect.

Have you ever even met a German union worker flap? Have you checked into the major differences between US and German autoworkers? Have you figured out the top two reasons why the Germans and the Japanese want to build cars in the states?
