COMPUCOM ANNOUNCES CQ4 EARNINGS UPSIDE ON STRONG SERVICES PERFORMANCE AND TIGHT COST CONTROLS;
SLIGHTLY RAISING ESTIMATES CMPC | $2.50 | OTC

Last night, Compucom announced CQ4 EPS of $0.16 per share, $0.06 above our $0.10 estimate. Upside was driven by strong revenue and margin performance from the Services business, as well as tight cost controls. Overall revenues of $708M were 2% below our estimates.

Product revenues of $634M declined 3% Q/Q versus our expectations for a 1% rise. Services revenues grew a strong 9% Q/Q to $75M, and were well above our expectations for 5% growth.

It sounds like CMPC is steadily gaining steam on its desired track:
"4Q Service gross margin improved to 43.6% compared to 39.8% in the third quarter 2000 and 31.8% a year ago."
