Pomp,

I've tried making this point before. The big issue is the magnitude of the royalties. The DRAM manufacturers believe that Rambus is seeking royalties way out of line with any contribution they may have made.

The last financial statement from Rambus seems to indicate that the actual settlements which have occured have been much smaller than the numbers commonly quoted.
