Scott,

Bush has to pay back his campaign contributors, and that will be his top priority for the next four years.

Of course he is going to drill in the ANWR.

The strategy will be the standard Republican fear-mongering and guilt. "You like driving your car, but you aren't willing to do what needs to be done to keep your car going. If we don't drill in the ANWR, we will all end up like California."

And of course the strategy will succeed, Bush's buddies will load up their rigs on to the boat, and all will be well in the world of influence peddling and corruption.

Scumbria.. I dont have the link.. but a CNN Poll today said that 53% of AMericans opposed opening up Alaska or the arctic for energy exploration in spite of the energy crisis in Californina.. only 33% supported it...

Scott,

Don't trust those polls...if the caveat is thrown in that not drilling in Alaska would result in Americans having to take mass transit or turning in their SUV's for smaller cars, those percentages would reverse very quickly I bet.
