Jon- Isn't it really the same thing. You pick stocks that will make your portfolio increase. -At least you are supposed too. I usually don't :-( I think taking the average of the percentage gains would be ok if we had bought an equal dollar amount. Since the contest clearly stated that this was NOT the case though I have to disagree. As you said though I think we can clearly agree that the rules were ill-stated (although I thought I saw somewhere that is said the portfolio tracker would be used and even gave a link to how the tracker calculates it's figures)
