I am assuming the countries who initially wanted GPRS, EDGE, or WCDMA will still want to go to 3G and shift to 1X, HDR, or CDMA2000.

What is wrong with that picture? This week telcom operators from France, Korea, and Brazil are turning down new spectrum that will be used for 3G.

Some way or another most of these companies have to offer 144 kps to compete.

I don't see any company offering 29K phone service today.
