But DDR does not perform better! It will perform worse on the P4.

It can only achieve about 50% of its theoretical bandwidth while Rdram can achieve 90 % of its theoretical bandwidth because its address lines are not double clocked. Also, it does not handle write operation anywhere near as efficiently.

So even two channels of DDR is not going to cut it.
