That's Liberal Land you're talking about -- they expect the government to blow dollar bills into their walls for insulation -- if they really need it.

I don't get it. You'd think after a few rolling blackouts and big power bills that Californians would blow some insulation in the walls. I suppose they are too busy filling up the SUVs?

Jim,

The situation is more critical than that.....many companies at least in So. CA had gotten cheaper electrical rates because they agreed to be cut off 25 times a year. Most years they were never cut off but now many have had many cutoffs. At this point they are losing so much $$$, that those companies that can are transferring production to plants outside the state; those that can't are shutting down hopefully temporarily.

I suspect there will be significant changes in the CA lifestyle when this is over. It will take years to come up with enough facilities to cover the energy deficit that has developed in the state.

And I suspect the surrounding states on which CA is so dependent will not be so cooperative in the future with sharing energy. And if the feds have to force them, all hell could break out.
