Hi Frank,
Thks. I've been debating the merits of, to my mind over-engineered atm traffic management features in edge devices all day. I come home and am re-reading Bart Kosko's "Fuzzy Thinking" book at night. He often points out that precision comes with a price. The amount of board space, chip sets, and power requirements needed to provide all those endlessly tweakable ATM service categories is prohibitive. I just hope someone out there is working on a different and perhaps better approach.

Perhaps I'll just wait for the rumored bandwidth glut and not worry about it:).
thks,
gord
P.S. I always enjoy this group and now I have to go and find out just what internet peering and transiting refers to.
