I remember the idea of drilling the ANWR was around a long time before Californias latest energy fiasco.
No doubt that proponents of it will play off California and have already played off OPEC dependency.
Don't uderestimate the public wanting to fill up those SUVs and heat their big houses with cheap petroleum.
Too most the ANWR is some place "up there" which they will never see. Out of sight, out of mind.
What happened to the 70's when people used to conserve? Even drive small cars and drive efficiently by trying to time lights and slow well in advanced of stop signs?
