Oh so now you were being serious about the humor of Ashcroft?

My apologies if that's the case.

flap,

You just kill me.

Not that your going to listen, but if you just played like the other kids, well they would like you even when they don't agree with you.

I am still waiting to hear flap admit he was wrong. Not regarding any of our "discussions", but anytime and with anyone. What can I say, I have a dream.

"Having said all that, it is you that needs to come off his elitist high horse. It is you who is the self-appointed arrogant one. Go back to your Izod golf thread, where you can share with the others what grip works best for you."

Such venom, from where does it spring? Really flap, you have to attack the guy's hobby? That is the best you can do? What are your hobbies? Do you have a hobby? I take it that you are not a golfer. I can see that, quite clearly actually.

BTW, Izod is really not in vogue anymore.

I agree that Ashcroft is droll. Janet was not exactly a bag of fun. Whats the difference if the guy is effective at enforcing the law?

TH

"You can call me anything you want, just don't call me late for dinner," is a fairly common joke throughout the Deep South, and I assume it's common elsewhere. Not exactly original, but hardly worth noting or objecting to, IMO.

In Ashcroft's case, he's been Governor, Senator and now Attorney General - the protocol question of what to call him is beyond my own rudimentary capabilities - I think typically you address someone by the highest title they've held, as a courtesy. So which is it?

Some cheaters in life cheat at golf, but all cheaters at golf cheat in life. Now what was Clinton's handicap again?
