Diamond H: I am taking about when a chart pattern such as a rising wedge portends that the price action will break down and retrace the pattern. When the price action does as expected, that would be a break to the norm.

Trading patterns can be a successful strategy as long as you stick to the basics and trade the patterns that have high probability ratios. Leave the fancy formations with low probabilities to others.
