Regarding your charts, I think there needs to be a way to smooth out the results, and isn't speed what DMI already indicates? There's no such thing as negative speed. Speed should treated equally for a price drop as for a price rise.

I think Ta already provides a way to predict speed from a pivot point, without algorithms. Any price break from a congestion period is going to create acceleration in price movement. Price zones of congestion tend to repeat in future price moves. Of course, these are analog methods of predicting price speed, which is not the hip thing to do.

Seems like the first chart is more useful than the second. I'm going to ponder this for a while and see what happens.

I spoke with Michael Friesen today, and he's working on the ideas that we have discussed over the past few years.
