Very interesting, TraderX. Thanks for pointing it out, and the link to the chart. It might point to the fact that markets tend to go up when rates are falling. Whether that will happen this time is another question entirely, but the stochastics plot might be revealing. I think the Fools did a study recently showing that even in periods of recession, markets rise when rates are going down. The moves down, they found, came before the periods of recession, anticipating them. FWIW
