I notice that Norton Utilities has a registry management which is a registry editor and tracker. Mine is greyed out in NSW2001. Do you have this in your NSW? I'm not sure if that feature would word for Win2000.

I'm just assuming 2000 registry backup is similar to 98 (probably not since you've probably already tried this). Under registry heading on registry editor toolbar choose export function.
