"Aus, others...

Wanting to create a Cd of Pics to send to family and friends.
Is there a program that will create a auto-playing slide show? "

Try hamrick.com - He offers software - VuePrint -for image viewing that I have used for years and he offers a slide show program - VueSlide -that can be included on a cd rom - I am not sure it will auto play but that sometimes depends on how the computer is set - (I have turned off auto play on mine because I vastly prefer it that way.) But the software on this site is first rate.

Drew,

Try wnsoft.com. They sell a program called Pics2exe ($24) which creates a single program that runs a slideshow and can auto-play music as well. The readme file explains how to right a 2-line program which you add to the CD-Rom when you burn it that makes the whole thing auto-run.

It works.

Drew,

I use FlipAlbum CD maker...

flipalbum.com

I think it costs $39.99 (listed as $49.99 on the site).

It allows you to choose photos to burn onto a CD that
creates an autoexecute file so the recipient can view
all photos without any software on their PC. All they
need is a CD-ROM player. Don't know, however, if it works
on a Mac. I have never tried it.

Drew, several people have questioned if Napster downloading is right or wrong. My response is that "if you paid for the album long ago", it's OK. But if you never paid the artist, it's not OK.

Personally, I would pay $10-$20/month to have access to Napster download services in an organized way (ie by album).

What do you think? What is the right stand to take about "free" Napster?

Craig
