I do not have a big position in IBM. However, I really believe it is one of the better plays. Options are relatively cheap, it's growth "if you can call it that" is on the heels of a Y2K slowdown that had no corporate mainframe spending out of fear (no new computers, no new software etc etc etc). However, I am so damn leveraged in options that I just do not want to add any more.

Wait and see what happens next Q IMHO. So, do you buy now or wait?

I think the answer is both.
I think tech dies this month. IBM should go with it.
Hopefully we rally into earnings (after we die this month and next - up until next rate cut) then we can decide again how to play. I will likely be short.

The best case for me is for IBM to hold relatively steady and for RIMM to crash in a hurry. That way I can unwind RIMM PUTs and buy IBM puts.
