An example of one source that shows ~22% increase *LAST YEAR* for California Electricity usage:

eia.doe.gov

Check 'California, 1999 - 2000 All sectors', seventh row from the bottom.

Note that those numbers are just public utility electricity sales and do not include private generation.

The building I work in has installed 5 turbine generators over the last 10 years and takes itself off line whenever the utility requests. Since these numbers are *UTILLITY* sales of electricity our Summertime usage would not be counted *IF WE WERE IN CALIFORNIA*, which we're not.

Note that the site I'm giving you is Federal, not state, and not related to a *LAWYER* who makes his change brokering electricity.
