Women are more religious than men

This is not an explanation for the consensus on abortion, which is really identical for men and women in both countries. The following link points out that religious belief, churchgoing, and other religious indicators show that Canadians (fairly equally comprised of males and females) poll from approximately 20-50 percent different in the strength of their religious conviction. Again, the women and men in both countries are virtually identical in their support or oposition to abortion.

This mildly suggests to me that organized religion is not a significant factor in the overall picture of abortion support or opposition.
