Kap, <I saw some astounding SPEC numbers from early silicon 1MB Mustang in September.> Gee, I thought Pentium 4 had some astounding SPEC numbers of their own, but the AMDroids rejected them because they weren't reflective of "real-world" applications. (Just ask Scumbria.) Besides, the large cache makes much more of a difference on multiprocessor benchmarks like TPC-C, not single processor benchmarks like SPEC. You didn't happen to see any TPC-C estimates for 2-way Mustang, did you? <I hope I didn't ruin your dinner.> Sorry to disappoint you, but I feel no need to break out the Maalox. Tenchusatsu

As for AMD being able to produce large die, well... lets just say talk is cheap, they never have produced one and leave it at that. Re: "So if by any wild chance P4 gets ahead of the Athlon in the performance race, M-tang is there and ready to slam the door on it" Well P4 is here, it produces the highest SPEC scores ever measured (SPEC was pretty important to you in your previous quote) and the Mustank is pure vapor. I'll take the highest scores ever produced over canceled vapor any day. EP
