I'm expecting more like 5% to 15% of the small SHV server market going to AMD by then. But if you think it'll be closer to 49%....

Maybe you're right. With Itanium/McKinley looking like it could still be in prototype mode a year from now, and with the memory bandwidth problem of the P4 architecture, I suppose it's conceivable that AMD could really take off in the SHV server market.

Let's bet on that.

By February 3, 2002 I'll wager $50,000 that AMD has less than 49% of Intel's SHV server market.


Even though I don't know what SHV stands for, I think it would be a major success if AMD captured 10 to 20% of this market.
