Tim, Since you're discussing my thread publicly, I feel the need to respond publicly. The Left Wing Porch is intended to be a lounge for liberals and those who can tolerate liberal rants. It is not a place for liberals and libertarians, conservatives, etc. to argue the issues. This thread is the place to do that. I'm delighted that you've found this thread a good place to post, as I've told you that I think you're eminently worth listening to. I have been following your discussions here very intently and am bowled over by the graciousness on both sides. You are welcome to post on the LWP, bearing in mind that it's not a place to argue political topics. I'd like to think of the difference between the two threads as a semipermeable membrane and that thoughtful and respectful people of all political leanings can pass through as they wish.
