I disagree. Or at least I might depending how exactly you define rational in this context. I could see a definition for rational that would limit it to things that can be demonstrated as true, but if you limit it to this then rational thought is no longer a useful tool in certain areas of thought or discussion. The principle itself can not be demonstrated to be true. In fact you can't prove anything without accepting some unproven things as true first.
