I started following the Elves a couple of years ago, thinking the changes in their consensus might make a good direct or contrarian indicator. It didn't, because they didn't change their votes that much. They've been at +8 or +9 for months, and there was no high or low in their consensus that matched with the pre-Labor day Market high or the year-end low. Also, prospective elves know Rukyser is a perma-bull, so strategists who vary between bullish and bearish don't participate. One woman (Gail Dudack?) stayed bearish too long and he kicked her out of Elfdom.
