It's pretty sad that, with all of our intellect, some of us expect to be reduced to fruit flies and their population growth. We have tools to shape our future and we should use them. Birth control and preventative health, sanitation and community water projects: these produce more good per individual for the lowest cost than just about anything else we can do.
