Folks-- E makes things up to make her points. Facts that she cannot back up.

We argued if the authors of the UN Charter (Alger Hiss was one) were Communists (i.e. athiests) and she said
Communists were not athiests (????). Then she had the gall to say her uncle or something knew Hiss and he was a
Christian.

I would ask everyone reading this to know that this person has dishonestly distorted some facts. My remark was simply that not all Communists were atheists. They were not allowed in Russia to practice religion, but that some retained their religions secretly. Hiss was American, of course. He was an Episcopalian, his wife a Quaker. As for my "uncle," there was no uncle, but: a volunteer reader to the handicapped, who reads to the husband of one of my best friends, a quadriplegic (multiple sclerosis), was at the same time a reader to Hiss after Hiss lost his sight, and he confirmed the information I found on the net, that Hiss referred to himself as an Episcopalian.

So what, btw?

The Street, whoever you are, don't make up lies about me. (Obviously, if you have to lie, it means your position is not served by the truth.)

How shall I prove that I lived on Tshekedi Crescent in Gaborone, Botswana for five years? And traveled extensively in Swaziland, Lesotho, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and, farther north, in the Ivory Coast, Kenya, and Togo? My friends on SI know it to be the case. My husband has written three books about it.

If I tell you that it is a known fact that will be confirmed by Rambi, who is a friend and has read two of those books, and is also a Republican and Bush supporter, will that be sufficient evidence that the accusation that I have made it up is unfounded?

The Street--Do you have any evidence that E is lying about living in Africa? If so, present it. If not, why assert it, then?
