Carranza,

NOK has announced that they'll be installing 100,000 WCDMA basestations this year, and 300,000 next year.

Handsets may not be ready, but infra will be going in.

I don't think they can stall forever....

What about Nokia's need to have a 3G license for all the WCDMA infrastructure they say they are installing? That should be coming long before the hard to produce handsets.

Didn't they say 50 contracts??

I would think they have to pay us royalties on that. When? Once they collect from vendor?

carranza2, if NOK uses TI's wcdma chips in its handsets, does NOK have to pay QCOM license fee? Note that, TI does not have WCDMA chips now, and is years away from having it. However, TI does have cross license with QCOM on all celluar phone chips including WCDMA.

Thank you. nimingdn
