The subject of eCharities came up during the last face-to-face conversation with Scott Roix myself and two others had since it had just come out that day. This explanation is for the silent longs. It is the result of his explanation of the contract and expectations as best as I can remember.

"Under the agreement, TSIG.com subsidiary GeneralSearch.com will customize a home page for each charitable organization and provide a backbone for the Internet Access. The Affinity Group will provide 24/7 customer service and handle all banking and credit processing. The charities will market the Internet Access to their donors for a $14.99 monthly fee."

PR: biz.yahoo.com

eCharities is an aggregator doing business with approx 750 charities or non-profits with a universe containing a population of approx 25 million donors. They get paid to bring revenues to the bottom line of the non-profits. eCharities puts together or obtains promotions (charity support services) to offer to the charities for their use if they chose to use them. ("In 1999, eCharity and its affiliates processed over $300 million in contributions.")("They help non-profit organizations reduce their costs and increase the support they get from donors.")("``Non-profits have been looking for an Internet service provider that they can recommend to their donors. Together with TSIG.com, we are able to deliver a superior service at a superb price, with the final element of helping the charity.'' ")

Scott stated the first disks from GS were to be shipped within two weeks or by Feb 15th. He didn't say to whom or how many. I assume to eCharity for distribution.

Roix's initial goals:

1. The build to 10% penetration of use of the promotion offered by TIGI through the non-profit universe of eCharities. That would give 2.5 million potential contacts for data mining allowing Affinity to obtain memberships to it's various Clubs and sell their other products.

2. Obtaining an initial 100,000 ISP memberships to GS through the offering. That would place GS near a breakeven based on it's current burn rate.

"The charities will market the Internet Access to their donors for a $14.99 monthly fee." Approximate breakdown of the $15/mo as best as I can determine/guess and not confirmed. $5 goes to eCharities. They send $4 to the charity. (Scott said, and wasn't sure, that $4 went back to eCharity with most going to the charity.) $10 stays with GS with $8 sent to the ISP. GS keeps $2.(From info posted on RB and the 100,000 goal)

My feeling is when we see a PR or other information stating or showing a paying membership of 250,000 then GS should be easily profitable. That should cover any additional expenses GS might need or have added during the membership buildup resulting in GS contributing to TSIG.com's profits. This does not include any additional revenue from other sources.

The additional tie and /or draw: GeneralSearch.com will customize a home page for each charitable organization and provide a backbone for the Internet Access.

Reposted again is an email exchange between one of the other shareholders at the meeting and Ztect origionally posted on the RB Sane Thread and then SI:
