Compare to you and me people that lived in caves have been "mentally retarded". "they knew the difference between the times they consented and the times they were forced" Buy the way, world "freedom" was invented in ancient Greece and rediscovered in Europe in Middle Ages.For several thousand years before that 90% of population of "civilized" world have been on the position of slaves. There was no world for "Freedom" in many African languages. Speaking about "consensual sex" - LOL If you want to speculate about what people from cultures dramatically different from ours "knew " or did not know you should go beyond liberal slogans and do some serious reading .
