Goodale...I didn't think I posted it. I don't often like to comment on positions in the past tense as they are irrelevant to making a good call and anyone can pick a good stock from the last few days. Most of my trades are posted in real time though....CHKP was on my site and like many they often have optimal entry points. That doesn't mean they are the only entry points available as sometimes a rising trend fails to make it to the first major resistance point. In cases like this, good entry points often come from signs of weakness, especially when the stochastics have already crossed and turned down from an overbought condition and this was the case in CHKP.
CHKP is a wild one and I don't trade it too often given the level of volatility it sports. However, I too may consider a long from the 141 area as this is the first major support area from the recent highs. I would never trade a large position on it though. Also, high quality or not, CHKP is still overpriced and it will come down...it's too risky for a long term play here.
