Since I think it is inborn to be clannish- to think of people in terms of "us" and "them" I think even the most enlightened people are racist- at least once in a while. I've never met anyone who I've been around for a while who didn't say something racist at some point- some generalization about Asians, or Hispanics, or whites, or blacks. Of course some people make more of them, and some people make them all the time- but from the obvious bent of the human mind to think in terms of "us" and "them" I suspect there is no one who is not racist. What I've never met or seen or heard of, I have trouble believing in. (and I grant you there are people who claim not to be racist- but since they are generally the people (of any color) who generalize along racial lines and get called on it, their claims are a bit suspect)
