GZ, are you not afraid of sustained high energy prices, tech overinvestment, record high consumer and corporate debt relative to income, consumer exhaustion after 10 boom years, zero or negative savings rates vs a post-war average of 8%, huge trade deficits? There seem to be plenty of imbalances to give a prolonged U or L type recession a fighting chance -- or even a 70s-like stagflation. I don't thing the markets will fare well then.

Looking at the weekly charts the recent series of candles out of the bottom still looks to me to be quite like the series out of the bottom in May-June on the NAS indices:

I'm not getting as pessimistic as you guys yet :)

<...jumping in and out of these markets with core positions is way too much work and, as a result, the lion's share of the move could be missed.....>

Whichever the direction... and that is still DOWN!!!

I think we may get to 1900 on NAZ before your <chuckle> 7,500.

Hope springs eternal...

Good Morning GZ,

I'm holding my core holds here, after all need to own them 12 months for capital gains.

I've got 2 buy zones:

1) 50 day moving average - good tech stocks should get institutional support here - nvls @ 30-40.

2) Shades of Oct. 1998. Scary but a great wealth building opportunity. If that occurrs you can bet we'll go below 2250 for a 3 day swing below that will rattle the teeth of even Bill (as his wetherman posts will gleefully say "I TOLD YOU SO". HEHEHEHE

Buckle up it's time to throw a little confusion/opportunity in the market. JMHO
