Hi David,

In all honesty, I appreciate PDAs simply due to my memory problems. I simply want the best product for the money.

The Kyocera Palm phone offers (appears to!) the benefit of a phone and a PDA combined.

My desire is to have a wireless device that can fit into my pocket with a 24/7 charge of $25-$30 per month. I want to check my email, stock quotes, news, etc. on a real-time basis -- on a color device. I don't need the cell phone capabilities, but it would be nice -- although not needed for me.

I love Palm & C/E devices for greedy reasons: they benefit my memory issues. On the other hand, the reason I focus upon the competition is purely for investing/speculating reasons.

Sorry I couldn't address your specific question. I agree that talking on a phone and using a PDA may be too much.

David, as regard to multitasking, I think Palm got this problem solved by using the clip-on sled approach. You don't need to have one single OS to handle everything. In Palm (or Hand) case, the add-on sled handles the phone funtions and the Palm handles the PIM functions. They each have their own processor and batteries. In fact, I read some RealVision news releases and they stated that you can talk just using the add-on sled (with no Palm) by pressing the talk buttion, but most probably you can't dial since there is no keypad on the sled.

Mutitasking is useful when you think about instant messaging and always on e-mails. Palm cannot do always on-email like Rimm now because it can't handle the multitasking requirements. Rimm can do it very well b/c it's just a pager and does not need to do any PIM function. The Palm OS 4.0 should solve this problem.
