Well, it's funny. Most posters on Yahoo seem able to see it for what it really is. But several posters on SI have reacted to it with surprising hostility. By now it's mostly just a habit. Bland does not deliberately set out to annoy people. He's never been like that. You will find almost no abuse of other individuals in any of his posts (there are perhaps four or five exceptions out of thousands of his posts). In fact, that is specifically part of bland's "purpose", as he attempts to fulfill it: to not abuse others as individuals.
