Yes, I must admit to being rather pleased with the results of last year's research effort (which was summarized in the fall post you referenced. It has been almost as profitable as my call last winter to "shotgun-short" the dot.coms due to their heaving of all available cash into Christmas advertising. It has indeed been a good year.

That said, I must also admit to the fact that I have very frequently cleared/bought back too "early" on many situations this past year. In several instances, I knew the company was in serious trouble and that its stock would get pounded. Yet even when the selling got underway, the massive volatility frequently caused me to box or clear too soon, which later proved to be the wrong thing to do.

Not that I am complaining. When I take a decent profit and miss an even bigger one through clearing out, I take solace in the phrase attributed to a past stock market legend,..... "How did you become so successful in the stock market?" "I always sold too soon". (g)
