carranza2,

the patent fights have all gone in Q's favor

Yes, the patent fights (your words) have gone in Q's favor at the respective Patent Offices. Their patent claims have been upheld, however, one does not know if Q's coverage has been amended.

Next, I'm not aware if Q has ever gone to court over their patents. Ericy was about to, but settled in the end....

Hmmm... lots of other manufacturers have not signed, carranzass. Most interestingly none of the notorious ugly but smelly euro gang of four E,N,S,A originally wanted to sign the license. At the end E got it accidentally with the infra purchase (was hidden in the executive toilet seat water container).

What´s the matter with these guys? One hard headed CEO could be dismissed as a freak case, but that all of them...

And interestingly these are the companies who matter most. They are the real powerhouses of GSM, the original architects of WCDMA.
