I use a wireless Palm to access more Internet content (including SI) and email than my PC. The email app allows me to setup any email service (my ISP, AOL for example) but work email is a groupware system so I use a different app to access that through my Palm & cell phone. There are quite a few "browsers" for the Palm too but its not for the casual browsing in the same sense we browse on a PC.

Sure today the ability to access "online CDs" is not there but I am sure that the Internet-ready audio player is not far off. All we need is an app that will convert audio CDs to MP3 files in a batch process and store them online. Now I can synch my MP3 player through an Internet connection with my online CD collection. If that storage is P2P-capable, I can share my songs with other people as well.

I'm waiting for the real era convergence to happen - where my PDA, cell phone and pager are in one device. Perhaps by then, we'll be talking about affordable wearable computers. I've seen some demos of wearables and I'm certain that in 5 years they will be as mainstream as Palm/PocketPCs are today. The first wave will be in specialized work environments but we all know that everything has some consumer value :) You know what will drive some of that?? Hands-free internet-ready cell phones will start that phase as well as auto-based computing services.
