If PMS couldn't help I don't know if this will but it cant hurt: Select the file you are trying to open by left clicking on it (once) then while holding the shift key left click on the icon. click on "open with" and change the file association to the zip opener. you might want to uncheck the always use box until you are sure it works.

Patricia,

Why don't you go to www.winfiles.com look for Winzip 8.0
in the Utilities section. Downloand and install to your
system. This will take over to open all of your Zip files.
It is a shareware, but you if you can live with the splash
screen you can run it forever. Easy and fast, you can use
it to compress as well as to open all Zip files.
