important to remember regarding RISING WEDGE BREAKDOWNS:

wedge breakdowns often roll-over into head & shoulder patterns....so be wary and on the lookout around failed rallies.

See: IIX, NDX, SOXX, XCI, XTC, XBD

I've got the NDX back below its September 1 log downtrend line. And apologies to Allan, but I think I've got the NDX finding support on the lower boundary of its rising channel.

COMPX is finding support at its Sept. 1 log downtrend line, and may be redrawing a steeper rising channel. The index's outperformance of the NDX is very interesting; buying may be expanding to the broader list.

"What really surpises me where so many are calling this RISING WEDGE a BEARISH WEDGE is that its breaking an important rule where its just not rising on declining volume. This is just text-book stuff."

My sentiments exactly when I see knowlegeable folks ignore objective pattern drawing techniques and call small head and shoulders patterns things like "rectangles". <ggg>

Don, just in case that you are not aware of the following:

Started last week(not sure the exact day), the Naz stopped(drastically minimized) the so-call "double counting" method -- supposedly the double counting accounted for about 15% of the Naz volume(in the past).
