Eric
news: Intel Withdraws McKinley Paper From Conference Intel (Neutral, $35) withdrew a paper that it was expected to introduce at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) on its second generation IA-64 processor, code-named McKinley (the follow on to the "Merced").

I wonder why? Maybe Itanium performance is so outstanding (as per Paul) that McKinley is simply not needed :-))

Regards
-Albert

ps: Paul, your comments are especially welcome :-))

RatByte - Re: "Wow- A $2000 64 bit cpu paired with 4 way interleaved memory is %50 faster than a $200 32 bit cpu paired with single channel memory in doing double precision math"

Yep - typical AMDroid denial in action.

Just wait until Intel cranks that ITanic up to 668 MHz.
