I'd like to see the math on those odds, I'll bet somewhere in there is the statement "given an equal percent gain/loss" or "given an equal dollar gain/loss"; and my experience in the market tells me that there are no "givens". In fact, in my experience in the market there are mostly "tak'ns".

The first level of reality here, after recognizing the fact that this is just a contest, is that there is no way a contest is going to reflect either everyone's investment style or an ideal investment style. So, in the pursuit of value (other than the value of fun) in a contest such as this, the more the rules eliminate variables, the more value is given to information produced by the variables. I don't think you can ask for more.

There are some crazy rules out there in the real world too. Who knows about the future? I say, lets just see how well you do under these conditions and let's see what we can learn from that.

Best Wishes!
