And in case you didn't notice, there were NO P4 1.5's in the sales flyers last weekend, only 1.3's and 1.4's.

If you look at what some of the vendors have in stock, it looks like no 1.5 GHz:

I would not make any conclusions about p4 yields yet. More than one source already pointed to lousy demand for p4s so Intel's actions may be explained by lack of demand that is if no one buys p4-1.5 at the given price why try to sell even more expensive p4-1.7. On the other hand the same sources pointed to high demand for high end athlons and pIIIs.

True enough (I guess), but if you wanted a P3 workstation, you still have a variety of high-quality boards available. For the low- to mid-end workstations we have various VIA chipsets, for the mid- to high-end workstations we have several chipsets from ServerWorks.
