Frank - Congratulations, I remember commiserating with you a few months ago about KEG, glad we both held on. I closed my position completely last week. Actually off margin today, but I know that won't last long <g>.

Bradshaw was an interesting person. Met him a few times and heard him speak on other occasions. Not at all your basic captain of industry. He was also a young professor at Harvard before joining up with Anderson. He has an endowed chair at the Kennedy School now. He was really the COO at ARCO since Anderson always lived in New Mexico and commuted to L. A. Both of them left ARCO in the mid-eighties and it was downhill from there. Bradshaw took over RCA and engineered the merger with GE and then retired. Sadly died within a few years of retirement.

I always liked this quote of his....

""A socially accountable corporation must be a 'thoughtful' institution, able to rise above immediate economic interest and to anticipate the impact of its action on all individuals and groups from shareholders to employees to customers to fellow breathers of the air and sharers of the land. A successful organization must possess a moral sense as well as an economic sense … But, while pursuing our financial goals, we have not neglected to listen to what our critics have been saying about our effectiveness and inventiveness as a social entity."
