Don't make Itanium sound older than it already is!

I honestly think that IA-64 has IBM and Sun more than a bit scared.

Of course, IBM is hedging their bets by developing around IA64. OTOH, if McKinley based servers end up taking on, possibly cannibalizing RS6000 and S390, IBM could stand to lose a lot of business.

I am sure that while scaring IBM / Sun / CPQ and the rest of the OEMs Intel feels perfectly comfortable. :-))
