You make a valid point, and that is analysing volume may not be so simple. That wedge was developing on rising volume, but when you micro-analyzed it you notice that the UP-MOVEs were on lower relative volume. So if one did not analyze the volume as close as you did, one may had assumed that it was bullish, and should not be a short.
