Seems to be a pattern. There is a massive self-destructive instinct in our society that can't be denied.
What I find even more alarming that this "self-destructive" instinct is not held to being only "self-destructive." As these behaviors are encouraged from one peer to the next as the cool thing to do. I realize this has gone all for years on end, but I see the current risks and stakes much higher than previously.

Well, a lot of kids have the universal quality of youth - that they are different, it won't happen to them, etc. I jsut asked my daughter (18) why some of her friends smoke - she had no idea. So I asked her to ask them - that I was taking a survey.

As far as a self-destructive instinct, some of course have it - more proof of the validity of Darwin?
